Potato Day

Every thought about the humble potato.

Where did it come from?

How many different types are there?

Well on the 13th April we found out these answers and also many more.

Members of the district went up to Falkland to meet up with the conservation group to spend a day dealing with the Tattie.

In the morning we had a talk about the potato and got the answers for the above questions and many more.

After this we split into 3 groups and did 3 bases.

1 - Making Macaroon Bars from Potato.

2 - Potato Quiz.

3- Toppings for the potato.

After lunch(Yes it was Potato+Cheese pie with a Tattie Scone)

We headed up to the Garden to spend the afternoon preparing the site and then planting seed potato's.

Types planted included Swift and Rocket.

It will be intrested to see them grow in a few months time.
